ESPM – The Global Standard Bearer For Science of Face Art

The beauty science profession was given another shot in the arm after IPEC Bureau introduced a scheme to certify professionals specialising in eyebrows, eye and lip Semi-Permanent (micro-pigmentation) through the Expert Semi-Permanent Makeup (ESPM) Certification Scheme.

The objective of this scheme is to meet industry demands for greater technical experts, world-class training institutions and enhance human capital development in Science of Face Art - a segment of Beauty Science.  

The ESPM Certification Scheme was established by IPEC in liaison with industry representatives. The Science of Face Art Industry Scheme Committee recently held a meeting to discuss the scheme’s technical matters before it came into fruition.

The ESPM Certification Scheme – which is slated for launch in July 2017 – consists three levels of certification for professionals:

BSC 122631 Certified Brow Designer

Finding the ideal design for individual faces and enhancing a person’s natural beauty, that results in a more beautiful, elegant and personalised expression.

BSC 122633 Certified ESPM Professional

Performing ESPM treatments for eyebrows and lips, with an understanding of the underlying scientific principles of ESPM skill, hygiene and safety precautions.

BSC 122634 Certified ESPM Master

Performing ESPM treatments for eyebrows, eye liners and lips, with an understanding of the underlying scientific principles of ESPM skill, hygiene and safety precautions, complemented by business and management competence and the ability to grow and expand their brand in the market.
